Yesterday I climbed in Buoux for an American television show called “Livin’ Large”. That was a horrendous day. Well, I shouldn’t say it was that bad, but it did throw me for a loop. Being interviewed by these people who have no idea about me except for what they’ve read on the Internet made me feel as if I were on trial. I’m really uncomfortable with the whole idea of the media trying to give a very limited take on who I am. These journalists are trying to fit me into this mold of an “extreme athlete,” and even before they’ve met me they know how they’re going to portray me. They would prefer it if I was loud, obnoxious, and cocky; to them that’s an easier personality to sell to the mainstream audience.
